Each side's total adds up our weekly projection for every player on it, the same numbers as the projection board and the start/sit tool.

The rest-of-season figure is an estimate: each player's projection for this week, times the regular-season games his team has left on the official schedule, so bye weeks are counted correctly. It assumes the player's role holds and does not foresee injuries or trades. Our weekly projections are graded every week; this estimate is not.

Beside each player is his points per game so far this season, from the box scores, so you can see whether this week's projection is high or low for him.

A player with no game left this week is left out of this week's total but still counts for the rest of the season. A player listed as inactive, or with only one played week of history, is left out of both, and the page says so.

When the two sides project within one point of each other for this week, the calculator calls it too close. In our graded weeks a gap that small picked the higher scorer only about half the time.

We grade every projection after the games and publish the accuracy by week and by position.
